Schools, Childcare & Pre-Schools

DanceKids comes to your Childcare Centre, Play-Group, Pre-School or School so you do not have the expense or loss of time transporting the children. We offer flexible program structures that can be arranged in different combinations to suit the individual needs of the children in you centre or school.
Each session will take between 10-25 children and run for 30-40 minutes. Parents and teachers are invited to join in and experience the children’s joy of movement and discovery.

Dancekids programs have been designed for the following age groups –

• Toddlers 2-3 years
• 3-5 years olds
• Lower primary school 5-7 years

All programs have been carefully designed to be appropriate and stimulating for each age group. In many childcare centres Dancekids presents 3 separate age-specific sessions consecutively within the one centre. Most frequently these sessions are divided in the following way - toddlers, 3 year olds and 4 year olds. This division of age groups enhances the ability for each program to maximize the developmental potential and beneficial outcomes for each group of children. Having consecutive sessions in the one centre is also a more cost-effective arrangement for your centre, pre-school or school.

Dancekids provides teachers with a complete outline of each theme, detailing what the focus will be for each week of the 5 week block. Teachers will also receive background information to compliment each theme. Please visit the Programs button for details about the DanceKids themes.

Schools

The Dancekids programs are appropriate for school children in kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2. The focus points for each theme create a field of interest for teachers to explore in other learning areas. Teachers frequently use the Dancekids themes to enhance a unit they are focusing on in the classroom.

Dancekids should be looked upon as a resource that can be drawn upon, and adapted, to support existing learning mechanisms within schools. Dancekids creates environments that support learning methods such as the “Emerging Curriculum”. Each program creates the potential for many different extension activities in other learning areas. Some teachers have creatively used the focus points of these programs as a trigger for children to go on a journey of exploration.
