Welcome to DanceKids!

DanceKids is a creative, educational program that uses dance as a tool to assist in the development of environmental and cultural awareness in young people. Each program is designed to stimulate and expand the child’s knowledge of their environment. This is supported through fabulous, beautifully-crafted and colourful costumes. These costumes are unique and easy for children to slip on over their own clothes.

To see those “Moments of Wonder” as young children explore the world of science in nature through the medium of dance is an exhilarating experience. When children fire-up with enthusiasm and excitement about the life of Honey Bees or Life in the Rainforest it is truly a sight to behold!

Aims:
The programs are designed to:

Assist in the development of environmental awareness
Provide science-related information to a younger audience
Provide cultural experiences to younger children
Teach the fundamental movements that support children to develop coordination, rhythm and balance as well as strengthen large muscles.
Promote positive outcomes of self-awareness, confidence, self esteem, social and emotional skills and an ability to listen and to follow directions.

DanceKids programs are currently only presented in Childcare Centres, Play groups, Pre-Schools and Schools and have been designed for the following age groups -

Toddlers 2-3 years
3-5 years olds
Lower primary school 5-7 years

DanceKids comes to your Childcare Centre, Play-Group, Pre-School or School so you do not have the expense or loss of time transporting the children. We offer flexible program structures that can be arranged in different combinations to suit the individual needs of the children in you centre or school.
Each session will take between 10-25 children and run for 30-40 minutes. Parents and teachers are invited to join in and experience the children’s joy of movement and discovery.

DanceKids develops unique, specifically designed programs for corporate bodies. Recent programs have been produced for CSIRO Discovery, the National Botanic Gardens and the National Museum of Australia. More details are available under Corporate.

DanceKids offers fun birthday parties with themes that focus on nature or different cultures – something refreshingly different!
